READ THE DESCRIPTION! THERE'S A BACKSTORY TO THIS!

Helllllooo my little peacocks!

Just thought I'd post SOMETHING before going home for the summer. lol
This was my final exam in my intro to painting class at school where we can paint whatever we wanted. So I decided to draw something that is very close to me....my childhood.
Growing up, I played video games. Super Smash Bros was the first game that started my love for video games and it grew through out the years while exploring other game series like the ones you see in the painting. And it got to where I started drawing them, and thinking of fanfic stories of them. I was bullied throughout elementary, middle school, AND high school for being a GIRL and liking these 'childish' things still. It got to where people kept telling me to grow up, I'll never make it in life if I continue to do this, or I'll remain a freak forever. Those words hurt to where I considered being suicidal....but I didn't, and I'm still not. Because now, I JUST finished my exams for my sophomore year, and will be a junior next year (lord help me). I also have friends that respect the fact that I like this and THIS is what makes me who I am today. I am now aware there will be people that are going to critique my artwork harshly, but you know what? I know I can't impress everyone, and that's their opinion. They'll tell to grow up, but I'll tell they never had a childhood. This is what my childhood consisted then, and is still consisting of now. I put my heart and soul into this painting, just like what I do with playing video games and doing other artwork. Everyone in my painting class noticed that I did so, and even got emotional while presenting it to the class. My professors LOVED my painting, and this very speech I'm typing of right now. Every time I look at this painting, it's going to make me realize how much wiser, and stronger that I became from all of that bullying. Now they can say whatever they want to my face, and I'll come back swinging. I'm a fighter, and I WILL fight for what is precious to me. Because I love my childhood, and I'm never letting go of that.


So yeah....This painting took about two and a half weeks, including the outlining of each character. I'm ECSTATIC that my professors allowed me to do this painting, and loved at the end. One of even said, 'F*ck the bullying! Paint what you want to paint, Stephanie'....seriously, he said in front of the class on exam day. No lie! lol
